Learn What To Do At The Gym

I am no expert when it comes to exercising. I hate the gym, but continue to go because in some weird way I actually don’t hate it all that much. What I’ve seen is that many women don’t know how to exercise or know what machine is used for what. I am one of them or at least was one of them.

Some quick tips before I get started:
1. Don’t eat before working out.
2. Don’t do the same exercises every time you go the gym.
3. Change your eating habits! No more fast food, fried food, white rice etc.
4. Don’t be afraid to ask when you have questions about a machine (I still ask).
5. Breaks between sets should not be more than a minute.

What you must always remember is that you need to start and end with cardio. For instance I love taking the classes at Lucille Roberts; Remix, chic boxing, abs and arms, boot camp, butt and gut and cross training. This immediately has you breaking a sweat. When your heart races during working out that’s good! It means your blood is pumping throughout your body which means your muscles will grow and most importantly you shed pounds.

For instance, I just started going four times a week during the weekday and every morning take one of those classes. If the class doesn’t start until 10, then I’ll go on the bike for 30 minutes first then the elliptical for another 30 minutes. If I start with a class I’ll do the elliptical first, my workout then finish with the bike.

The bike I ride looks like this–

The elliptical looks like this–

Make sure to use the handles so your arms swig back and forth. This works out your whole body.

Now what I’ve just learned is that the positioning of your feet is important as well. According to Pop Sugar, “When using an elliptical, a stationary bike, or a stair stepper, pressing with your toes works your quads more, while pressing with the heels targets your hamstrings and your tush.” Makes sense.

Now it’s time to work out those obliques! This is the best machine ever that many people don’t know about. I don’t ever see anyone using this magical piece of equipment; the cable pulley machine.

After you’ve discovered this machine, next is figuring out how to use it. I found these YouTube videos that will help you figure out how to use it–

Now this is the chest press. It helps you tighten and lift your breasts, a ++++
