Ziana’s Safari Birthday Party!

As you know this past weekend was Baby Z’s birthday and party! I finally found the energy to edit all 316 photos and can post them up now.

The past few weeks I kept getting stressed out due to the weather– it said would rain, then it wouldn’t, it would be scattered or 20% chance of rain. The forecast was all over the place! Stressed out, that’s all I could think of and every second I was worried. It was nice and a bit muggy out, and I saw the storm clouds around my house itching to pour down on my party.

The party started at 2PM and we finished decorating at exactly 2:03 PM, about a half hour in guess what happened? YEP! It rained, but only for about 15 minutes and it was only drizzle. I had rush and get the cake and cupcakes inside! After that the sun was out here and there, the food was yummy and I had fun.

The main decor was cheetah– cheetah balloons (not too much just right), Ziana’s outfit was cheetah, I had a cheetah belt and necklace and her daddy had cheetah print on the letters of his shirt.

Enjoy! Don’t forget to read my post on how I planned this party– Planning a Party or Event!

Rafia skirt and balloons were purchased at Party City. The pink table cover purchased at the 99cent store 🙂

Instead of buying stencils my mom cut out letters using a Macy’s box and I spray painted them.

The gift bags were my favorite and everyone’s! I had bought the brown paper bags at where else then the 99cent store and knew I wanted to use them in some way. I took to Pintrest and searched “brown paper bags.” A whole bunch of stuff popped up and I basically put two different ideas together! I took photos from Facebook, went to lightroom changed the photos to black and white and printed them out at Walgreens.

The inflatable zebra and giraffe were purchased at Shindigz.

I got the crates idea from google searches and knew this was something I needed. My father was able to get them from a friend who owns a restaurant, so yay me!

The centerpiece sucked! It was flimsy, but we made it work. I got that and the grass mats at Shindigz. The balloon weights were purchased at the 99cent store. And the bamboo table runner was purchased at Party City.

I decided to make a 12-month banner of Ziana from when she was a newborn up until her 11th month all taken on the same rocker chair. The banner paper is actually scrap-book paper purchased from Michael’s.

The cake was yummy and VERY afforable. I purchased the cake for $20 at BJ’s. Woohoo!

I googled safari coloring pages and had the hubby print them out at work. Bought crayons at 99cent store, bubbles and note pads purchased at Party City and play-dough at Toys R’ Us.

My mom and I made a whole bunch of cupcakes and gave Z one— she’s about to go in!

I love cheetah and everyone associates me to cheetah print so when I saw her romper at a boutique in the mall I just had to get it. I returned her zebra outfit and changed the balloons to cheetah 🙂

Its Official. She’s just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. My favorite pic is the one of her smiling showing her brand-new teeth!! Her outfit was totally ferocious!!!!! I love the bag idea. Thanks so much for sharing your life with us.

She’s one of those special babies that has a perfectly unique Babyface!! You look amazing, by the way. Was it hard to get your body back in shape after having her? It took me about nine months to get myself back to my pre-baby weight and about three more months to get my body back in shape.
