My new guilty pleasure is watching “Nashville.” If you haven’t started watching Nashville on ABC you are out of your mind! You don’t have to be a country fanatic either.
Nashville saved my life– musically. I was never into country except for that country way back when during Leann Rimes and Shania Twain were the reigning queens. Until now I was never a Taylor Swift fan either, yea I liked her because she had a bomb personality, but the music not so much.
After watching Nashville week after week I’ve come to appreciate it. It’s not the typical songs you hear on the radio today with auto-tune or ratchet lyrics. It’s beautiful poetry or simple words turned into ballads and dance tunes that come from a soulful place that conveys through a person’s heart and voice. The best part is all the actors are really singing! What talent!
Just a quick synopsis of what the show is based around the series stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, a legendary country music superstar, whose stardom begins fading, and Hayden Panettiere as rising teen star Juliette Barnes who Rayna does not fancy at all. Besides that there’s always some scandalous topics that come about.
My two favorite characters are Clare Bowen who plays Scarlett O’Conner and Sam Palladio as Gunner Scott. I’m so in love with their characters that I’ve added the name Gunner to my list of baby names just have to convince the father over here to like it now, haha. This two have inspired me to give country a second chance and have me singing to Nashville’s songs every week!
Creator Callie Khouri did a fantastic job in casting not just with this two, but with the whole cast. The chemistry between everyone and giving a platform for the actors in hopes to make them musical stars as well. Bravo!
Just another show I’d love to be a feature guest on 🙂
Check some of the songs out and you be the judge! And was my little voice in your head says “I told you so,” make sure to go get the Nashville soundtrack which already has gone to #1 in the country charts.
