Finally my baby shower has come and gone! After thinking of how to plan/decorate it, stressful weeks, and a snow storm that made me cancel the original day I can finally sit back, relax and enjoy the video and photos from that day. Having a boy I knew what the typical colors and themes were; browns, greens, blues, nautical, sports, animals and so on . I didn’t want that because it’s been done before trillions of times and if you know me you know I like to be a bit different. I looked on Pinterest and found bunch of ideas I loved.
We were going to have a small intimate baby shower, unlike my first one, which surprisingly I loved, but was nervous about as well. I also knew that we’d be at my mother’s house which had brown/tan undertones– not a fan of dark colors, but I wanted decorations that wouldn’t clash with it. I ran across this gorgeous photo of whites, browns, gold, beige and feel in love and knew I wanted just that.
If you watch my short video from my baby shower you can see exactly what was purchased where– when it came to putting it all together I went to both PartyCity and Oriental Trading.
The cakes on the sides were made by my mom and the middle cake was ordered from our family bakery Marzullo Bakery — my vision for the cake was all white with gold and I let them design it how they wanted.
The mason jars and “Twinkle Twinkle” sign were a DIY project from my friend Daniela.
The gold table-cloth was from Party City which I didn’t unfold all the way to give it the look of a runner across the table.
Clothing, bibs and socks from Walmart
I made up a station to have people write me some messages for my late night diaper changes
Of course I had to have “Guess Mommy’s Belly Size!”
This was a fun game that was played throughout the whole baby shower and kept guests at their toes.
I loved this idea and knew I had to do it– pick a few guests (4), tape balloons on their bellies; duct tape and ribbon, and have them play twister!
Another fun interactive game where guests place a paper plate on their heads, take a sharpie and draw what your baby will look like (full body). Best picture wins!
Now for everyone who won a game, won a prize, and to spice it up I had winners chose from a plate which would decide what gift they got–
This one said on a sign “From My Shower To Yours”– All bought from the Dollar Tree.
Some cooking essentials from the
Wine glasses purchased at The Dollar Tree and wine was bought–
Walmart candy and popcorn bucket from the Dollar Tree–
A cute Eiffel Tower clock prize from Walmart
As the thank you gifts I went to Party city and got sixlets, filled these cute little bottles from Oriental Trading and wrote “Ready To Pop” on them!
Then the food!! My mom went all out and made all the food for the baby shower. Now, this is a great host!
