Just Because Gift

My man works hard for me, for his kids, for this family and it’s easy for me to not appreciate it or take much notice. The two important days in his life where we remember to show extra love is his birthday, because we’re so glad his parents decided to accidentally have him and Father’s Day, where we can show him the monsters that he helped create.

I had his gifts done ahead of time, which is rare because I always wait until last minute. Unfortunately, his one special gift which I knew he’d love, besides his new sneakers, was a watch. And not just any regular silver flashy watch, but a wood watch from Jord Watch. I know, wood, strange, but it’s absolutely gorgeous. The minimalist sophisticated look is something that suites him very well. His first piece of jewelry was a runner’s watch then he slowly moved on to those beaded wood bracelets.

His ‘Just Because Gift’

At first I was upset I missed Father’s Day, but then my brain started to tick and I figured it’d be the perfect time to give a ‘Just Because Gift.’ Those ‘I was thinking of you’ gifts which I think means a lot more than those other dates. I didn’t open the packing either to make sure everything was in one piece because I too wanted to also be surprised. You guys, the packaging was so timeless. It had a nice keepsake storage box and a built in humidifier drawer on the bottom– so the wood doesn’t get ruined. Without humidity the watch will dry out becoming brittle. I know about my wood!

After all that, do you think he liked it? ABSOLUTELY. He actually started wearing it the next day and had it during our whole vacation in California. The ‘Just Because Gift’ was a hit and I think I’m more excited to actually give more of those gifts throughout the year.
