A Happy Birthday?

My birthday is today– and no one cares, not even me. There comes a time in your life that when getting older and celebrating another year just isn’t fun. Especially when you have a kid.

Who really and truly celebrates a closer year to getting crankier, filling up your head with gray hairs, not being able to see clearly when shaving, getting extra wrinkles and way too much more to list!?

Your mind– at least mine is so wrapped up around your kid, their life becomes your life. The life you once lived is at an absolute stand still. And it doesn’t help when your birthday is a week before the little ones. Hello! It’s all about the little one!

As it rightfully should be, but a little suffocation of admiration for your birthday wouldn’t hurt, haha.

Jeez, I sound so down, haha. That’s not how I mean to sound! It’s just another year, another birthday. The older you get the more your birthdays change. What is there really to look forward to?

No more waking up in bed with your mom and dad making your birthday a big deal or buying you a huge Barbie house for your dolls. Not a clown to perform for you and your friends. Not even pizza and soda! ((Sigh)) the good old days.

I wish we knew we were in the good old days when they were happening.

Om a brighter not, this is the first year I’ll be celebrating with Ziana so that much is exciting. After this year I’ll be more excited when my birthday comes around and I get drawings and a bunch of wonderful crap from her ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, Happy birthday to another year of getting old and saggy! Cheers!

Relish every birthday. You’re young, you’re healthy and you’re enjoying being around for your child. When you get older, the grey hairs and the gravity won’t be such a big deal because you’ll have wisdom and be more comfortable in your own skin. My 51st birthday is next week and I’m thrilled to be healthy and looking forward to a fun dinner with friends.
    Happy Birthday!
