My Rant

I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels disgusted and upset when you hear about a kid shooting a kid. It happens just about everyday a new story and a new kid involved. I’m just about tired of that and tired of a kid having committed suicide due to bullying.

What happened to giving the other a wedgie, knocking the kid upside down for loose change or even fist fighting your problems out? I don’t condone anyone putting their hands on each other, but at least that was way better than people (adults and kids) taking out a weapon and shooting. This is how it was done just a few years back. What changed in our culture? Everyone wants to blame music, which I never believed to be the reason. It’s these little young punks who decide to have sex at 14 and have their own kids. We live in a society now that it’s kids raising kids and teenagers raising grand kids (if that’s even possible, but you get where I’m getting at). Morals, integrity, confidence and even love, beyond a whole bunch of other things, are not being taught at home.

Now bullying kind of fits in with what may not be taught at home. Bullying was a part of growing up, not that it was right, but it’s like the circle of life. You go to school and are a bully or are being bullied. These kids who are being bullied and killed themselves need to work on themselves. Stop being a victim, build that confidence up and stand up for yourself. What is going on at home that these kids can’t fight back or see that the only way to “survive” the bullying is by ending their lives? And what makes me even more upset is when that kid gets sued or get some type of jail/probation. Seriously? The bully didn’t put a gun in his hand. I know bullying has gotten worse, but teach your kids on what to do handle your business!

I was never bullied because people knew I had a slick mouth and would fight if I had to. My mom would always get upset when I would get in trouble for having hit someone, especially when I was suspended for punching some jock in his face. My dad and brother on the other hand were proud! I’m sorry, but a kid is not going to curse me out and I’m going to let it go. I said if he didn’t shut the hell up I was going to punch him. Guess what he did!? The jock tested me! Don’t test me! To keep my word I did what I had to do and swung lol. Good times, good times. After that the situation between us was gone. We may have hated each other, but one of us didn’t go to school with a gun.

Baby Z is going to learn not to be a punk. I won’t be fighting her battles like some parents feel they have to, but I will try to guide her in the best way possible to let things go and try to diffuse any situation. If someone hits her FIRST, she will know how kick their ass and have it not happen again.
