Teaching your child to ride a bike is something we all have to do eventually and although Ziana doesn’t have a bike yet and we haven’t had to go through the grueling days of scraped knees, injured fingers and tears she has been practicing; with a balancing bike. My boyfriend was very skeptical about getting a balancing bike and didn’t see the point of it, which is understandable I was a bit on edge as well.
When riding a bike with training wheels there’s two problems you have to try and solve; peddling and balancing. We can all peddle and training wheels don’t help us learn to balance so now imagine taking the training wheels off– your child is doomed to fall and cry instantly. With a balancing bike all you need to concentrate on is balancing and steering– both very easy. When they’re ready to ride a bike they have to now learn how to peddle and balance at the same time which will still be difficult, but way easier for them to get the hang of it.
Ziana has been riding on her new balancing bike from Plasma for a couple of months now and loves it. She was skeptical at first and didn’t get that she had to sit her butt down on the bike the whole time, but eventually got it!

My grandchildren have another brand of balancing bike that works for them. This one is plastic with fatter wheels which still might make it different than a real bike. Just wonder how this compares to that one…
